Are you sick to death of hops? If so, then sour beers are the furthest thing from it. Don’t let the idea of a “sour” beer churn your guts. The Wall Street Journal describes sour beers as “an acquired taste for most, but a life’s pursuit for a devoted few.”
Basically, what gives a sour beer its unique flavor is the yeast. Most beers are fermented with yeasts selected by brewers for their predictable (and desirable) characteristics. On the other hand, sour beer makers are part cowboy, part mad scientist. They select brettanomyces yeast that is wild, untamed, funky, sweaty and even sometimes unwanted. It’s the last-picked teammate. It’s the ugliest sister. It’s the song you hate but can’t get out of your head.

There are many questions one may ponder when thinking about the possibility of a nuclear blast on home soil.
For instance: What will we do with all the dead bodies? Or… What will happen to all our paper-based records? How much radiation will leach into the soil? Will cockroaches take over the world?
Top on the government’s agenda: Will a post-apocalyptic world include BEER?

Beer brewers stunned us by unveiling their fall pumpkin beers in mid-August this year.
It seems just about anything with the “pumpkin” label – coffee, donut, or beer – is a hot seller.

There are beer snobs who say anything that comes in a green bottle tastes “skunky.” And, to a certain degree, they’re right. That skunk flavor affixed to certain beers occurs when too much light gets into a bottle, so it makes sense.
However, that would make cans the superior vessel – and most beer snobs then complain the taste is too “tinny.” You just can't win, right?

Backpacking across Asia isn’t for the faint of heart. But with a couple beers, the world is your oyster. At least, so says Texan and World Adventurer, Justin Bratton. The 30-year-old model / actor left home with nothing more than a backpack full of beer as barter.

Personally, I think fruit should NEVER come into contact with beer. However, there are many hummingbirdesque drinkers who prefer it. So if it strikes your fancy (or you’re looking for a “gateway” beer to get that cute blonde more interested in you), then here are 5 to try…
