Super Bowl Beer Prices Over The Last 10 Years

Over the years we’ve seen the Superbowl host some truly amazing moments, and there’s no better feeling than cracking open a refreshing beer to witness these during the biggest moment of sporting for the year.

Super Bowl Beer Prices Over The Last 10 Years

But as those years go by, that sweet sweet satisfaction slowly becomes less and less potent, as the price of beer shoots up during the Superbowl.

In this post we’ll be talking about the prices of beer and how they change dramatically between each Superbowl.

But be warned! This isn’t for the faint of heart for the beer lovers out there.

2012 – Indianapolis, Indiana

To begin, in 2012 we saw the Giants come head to head with the Patriots at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

If you fancied a drink here, it would cost you $8 for a regular beer, or if you felt like splashing out for the big game, $11. But don’t drink it all at once! We’re just getting started.

2013 – New Orleans, Louisiana

In 2013, it was the Ravens and 49ers going head-to-head in Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, here we saw the price jumping up for a regular beer to $12 a go.

If you wanted a premium it would cost you $15. A considerable jump up since 2013.

2014 – East Rutherford, New Jersey

2014 saw the clash between the Seahawks and the Broncos in the MetLife Stadium located in East Rutherford New Jersey.

Here we saw the price drop ever so slightly for a premium beer. With them charging $12 for a regular beer, and $14 for a premium beer.

2015- Glendale, Arizona

In 2015 the Patriots played off against the Seahawks at the university of phoenix stadium in Glendale Arizona.

Where we saw another slight change in pricing for premium beers, but not regular. Fans were paying $12 for a regular beer, and $13 for a premium beer.

2016- Santa Clara, California

We were in California, Santa Clara at the Levi’s stadium for the 50th Super Bowl, watching the Denver Broncos face off against the Carolina Panthers.

Here you’d be paying $13 for a regular beer, and $15 for a premium beer. We know what you’re thinking too.

If you felt like a typical game time snack don’t worry! you could grab a cheese board for an extra $15 to sit with whilst you watch the game.

2017- Houston,Texas

The Patriots and the Falcons fought hard in 2017, with one of the biggest comebacks we’ve seen in Superbowl history.

Although, at the NRG stadium in Houston, Texas. The price of beer wasn’t anything to come back about, with the only option being a domestic bottle costing $12.

2018 – Minneapolis, Minnesota

Beer cans

2018 saw the return of the patriots, this time facing off against the Eagles in the U.S. bank stadium in Minneapolis.

It was a disappointment for the Patriots and beer fans all around as a domestic can cost $13 and a specialty would cost you $15

2019 – Atlanta, Georgia

The patriots came back again in 2019, wanting to reclaim their title as they battled the Los Angeles Rams in the Mercedes-Benz arena in Atlanta, a stadium known for having the cheapest concessions in the entire country during regular NFL games.

This reputation wasn’t misplaced, as you’d find yourself paying $9 for a premium draft beer, or as little as $7 for a regular draft beer.

Marking our cheapest entry on this list, this just goes to show that Super Bowls can have regular prices for their beer, they just choose not to.

2020 – Miami, Florida

The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers faced off in South Florida at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami but unfortunately the same cheap prices from 2019 didn’t cross over.

If you were one of the unlucky fans who expected those cheap prices to continue, you’d find yourself paying $14 for either a Michelob or Bud Light, and $12 for a smaller, domestic beer.

2021 – Tampa, Florida

For the second time in consecutively, Florida hosted 2 Super Bowls, this one at the Raymond James stadium in Tampa.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs. But drinks prices rose up once again costing $13 for a regular beer, $14 for a premium and $15 for a craft beer.

2022 – Hollywood Park, California

And finally, the latest Super Bowl, held at the SoFi Stadium in California, we saw two teams we haven’t seen yet on this list, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.

As well as these teams, we also haven’t seen prices like this before. In 2022 in Hollywood Park you’d be paying $17 For a regular Michelob Ultra beer, and for a craft beer you’ll be paying an astonishing $19.

Which really is a jaw dropping price to finish our list.

Final Thoughts

Overall, from these past Super Bowls, we can really see the rollercoaster that are concession charges at these massive games, and while it’s important to remain level-headed.

It’s easy to understand why prices can fluctuate as much as they do all across the country. As fans.

Unfortunately it’s important to remember that the Super Bowl will never and can never be normally priced.

Sometimes the pricing really can go crazy, and sadly beer in particular is no exception to that.

Sports fans and beer have always gone hand in hand, which is exactly why it’s important to know what you’re getting into when attending a Super Bowl.

Regardless, for fans of any sport though, there’s nothing new here. Getting ripped off is a huge part of the Super Bowl and by the looks of it.

It won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Just know if you find yourself lucky enough to attend a Super Bowl, maybe drink before!
